Normally love Sockwells, and these are thin and soft... great except for the thin elastic band at the top, which cuts into my calves. Not badly, just enough to irritate my tactilely sensitive skin. Had to return one pair, stuck with the other because I wore them.I have a hard time deciding whether to get small or medium size for my size 6 foot. Size 6 is right on the high limit of small. So I bought small and I wish I had gone for the medium. The small are very tight and I have very small calves. I was worried that the medium would be too big and floppy. Well, no chance. They are warm, attractive, and well made, but I'm going to have to hand wash them in Woolite and lay them flat to dry so they won't shrink.I ordered several pairs of Sockwell wool socks, and have been incredibly impressed with all of them! This pair is absolutely lovely (the charcoal marl with pink/orange/green stripes), with a very soft, high-wool content, and a nicely cushioned sole. (Think "boot socks" for this style; you'd really have to have some extra room in a regular shoe for this one to work.) Highly recommend these!the socks don't keep my feet as dry as they should. I thought they were 100% wool (plus some elastic) but now wonder if they really are high enough % wool.I like these socks, they are comfy. But, they are a little tight and difficult to get on.The picture showed these socks as gray with blue and yellow stripes. Mine came with pink stripes. The fit is oddly tight on the ankle, but very loose on the foot. My feet are on the smaller side, but my ankles are too.
